Over 50 Pakistani bankers and media representatives attended CTL's first Pakistan Bankcard Briefing, held at the Sheraton, Karachi, on 16 July.

During the event, CTL's Sales Manager, Malek Mroueh, announced new contracts with two of the leading banks in Pakistan - United Bank Limited and Union Bank. Malek presented awards to the banks, saying, "I am proud to announce our joining of hands with two of Pakistan's outstanding banks - United Bank Limited and Union Bank. We are currently implementing the banks' respective solutions and are very excited to see them go live."

"Our bank partners here in Pakistan have seen the opportunities that exist in today's payments market and can now present to that market their brands of sophisticated card products."

Mr Munir Kamal, Chief Operations Officer, from Union Bank, spoke about the growth and strength of Pakistan's economy, and about Union Bank's strategies for success in this environment. He said, "One of the signs that Pakistan's economy is up and people are looking to the future with positive expectations, is when a world class company like CTL comes to present to us, and has in fact 'shaken hands' with some of the banks. This is a sign that Pakistan is ready to go to the next level."

Similarly, Mr Nauman Hussain, Director of Operations and Utilities, from United Bank Limited, gave an insightful speech on the way banks can best serve the Pakistani consumer. He spoke of UBL's commitment to its customers and its dedication to people and technology.
