Card Tech Limited, the UK-based payment solutions provider, is pleased to announce the successful implementation of its SENTRY Proxy Card product at Hellenic Bank in Cyprus. While other SENTRY e-commerce solutions are running in Cyprus, this was the first Proxy Card installation in the country. SENTRY Proxy Card powers the bank's new Net Secure product, which offers "the ultimate security for Internet shoppers," according to Rena Papadopoulou, Hellenic's Manager of Card Services. Hellenic Bank now offers Net Secure as a free service to all of its cardholders. It protects cardholder data and secures Internet transactions by generating single use Internet cards with a user-defined line of credit for a purchase at an e-commerce store. Rena Papadopoulou said of the SENTRY project from which Net Secure was created: "The SENTRY system was implemented and interfaced with Hellenic Net Banking and our CTL PRIME and ONLINE systems in a very short time. The implementation was efficient and trouble-free." Card Tech Limited and Hellenic Bank have worked together since 1991. The bank uses CTL's PRIME card management system to issue and administer MasterCard and Visa branded card products; SENTRY can plug in to PRIME easily, so the Proxy Card product draws account data from PRIME behind the scenes of the Net Secure solution. Integration with Hellenic Net Banking completes a package that puts Hellenic Bank at the forefront of e-commerce issuing innovations in Cyprus. Contact: Rena Papadopoulou
In partnership with Citibank Handlowy and i-flex Solutions, CTL has built and installed a technologically advanced XML interface between its PRIME card and merchant management solution and the FLEXCUBEŽ host system. The interface binds two state-of-the-art systems: the integrated solution gives Citibank Handlowy an holistic view of its customer data and lets it issue and process real-time debit card products for corporate clients who want fast access to the funds in their bank accounts. PRIME can now fetch real-time updates on current account or savings account data held in FLEXCUBEŽ, before it assesses authorisation requests from debit cards. And its ONLINE authorisation system uses the latest account data to perform stand-in processing, when required. The bank uses these new features to optimise its clients’ spending power. Citibank Handlowy first installed CTL systems in 1997. The systems have evolved with CTL’s technical vision and the bank’s business requirements. The new XML interface is latest addition to a sophisticated suite of technologies that is helping the bank gain a competitive advantage. Contact:
Card Tech Limited (CTL), the global card management solutions pioneer, scored a major success today as ABN AMRO N.V. in the Netherlands (ABN AMRO) announced their much heralded MasterCard Purchase Card that is powered on CTL's PRIME BIZ platform. Marking a milestone in CTL's five-year-long partnership with ABN AMRO, this initiative also cements a close cooperation between MasterCard and CTL dating back many years. They are inaugurating a real breakthrough: the first end-to-end solution for banks' Purchasing and Corporate T&E cards, with enhanced level-3 data, that is fully compliant with the latest MasterCard requirements. A proven provider of sophisticated systems, CTL has built up a reputation for repeatedly meeting requests from major payment associations to design customised solutions. Although PRIME BIZ can serve as the backbone of any commercial card programme, in this case, CTL's comprehensive commercial card system integrated seamlessly into the MasterCard Purchase Card solution that features Smart Data OnLine (SDOL) for Web-based, real-time information management. "We found that the complex functionality requirements of the B-to-B (business to business) card payments is often an important barrier to entry to this growing market segment," said Jorn Lambert, Head of Corporate Payment Solutions in MasterCard Europe. "CTL's work with MasterCard has resulted in an end-to-end purchasing card and information management solution, allowing financial institutions like ABN AMRO to quickly come to market with a superior product." PRIME BIZ maximises profitability by strengthening banks' bottom lines, as well as impacting on corporate's payment efficiency and increasing vendor revenue. The fact is, PRIME BIZ can turn a bank's commercial card system operations into a lucrative venture. ABN AMRO, a leading world bank with presence in over 70 countries, will introduce the purchasing card platform to service medium to large sized corporations, including ABN AMRO's wholesale and corporate clients. "Our relationship with CTL meant that we were able to provide a superior and comprehensive service to our clients," said Peter Stuurman, Senior Product Manager Payment Services at ABN AMRO. "The low cost of ownership, the fact that PRIME BIZ can be operated by a handful of staff allows ABN AMRO the possibility to offer the MasterCard Purchase Card to the market. CTL's competent and speedy implementation meant that we are the first-to-the-market and are able to zero in on our customers' needs." After more than a decade in this specialist market delivering value added services to the payment card industry worldwide, CTL has enjoyed sustained growth since its foundation in 1989 and has more than 150 clients in over 60 countries, including some of the world's largest banks and multi-national financial institutions.
