User Group 2005 - Step by Step

CTL's 13th annual User Group Conference took place at Le Meridien Spa and Resort in Limassol, Cyprus from September 27th - 30th October, 2005.

The event attracted 78 delegates, from a record 24 countries, and included representatives from 45 banks.

The theme 'Step by Step' captured the sentiment of the conference, with both CTL and its clients outlining a common development path for products, services and business growth.

Chief Operating Officer for Barclaycard International, Steve Adams, chaired the proceedings, introducing CTL's senior management and guest speakers to the stage.

CTL's Managing Director, Jaffar Agha-Jaffar, offered a welcoming word and General Manager Business Expansion, Edith Kessler-Charalambous, provided an update on the recently established CTL User Advisory Board (CTL UAB) - a collective voice for CTL clients enabling them to contribute to the prioritisation of new and current product developments.

Steve Hilling, Chief Operating Officer, concluded the update with a presentation focussing on CTL's business drivers: to improve value-added services, increase operational efficiency and provide best-of-breed solutions.

The conference format included scheduled presentations, interactive workshops and face to face meetings, and benefited heavily from CTL clients contributing to the content and focus.

In total, four session themes ran concurrently: Product Development, Fraud and Risk Management, Multi-Country Operations and Business Continuity Management.  Alan Perkins, Head of Operations and Risk Management at Visa International Middle East, and Pascal J. Guignard, Vice President of American Express Europe, are just two examples of the top industry specialists who presented at the conference.  Further presentations came from clients, such as Barclaycard International, Oman International Bank and the CTL UAB, who shared their experiences and provided valuable market insights.
